I wouldn't say pinhole photography is considered less or more "arty" than any other. But, as Belger explains, he believes pinhole photography is a more organic way to capture images. In fact, it's central to his idea of what he's trying to do in his art; connect with the subject on a deeper level. He believes that even the construction and type of camera is important.
Now, you may not buy into this view, but I don't think just because he's no Ansel Adams this diminishes his art to nothing more than a gimmick. -Brendan --- "P. J.
