On this shot I was doing everything wrong. I had the camera and lens set up for a close focus shot of an early wild flower bloom, (maximum DOF with the slowest shutter speed I though I could reasonably hand hold). I was just beginning to compose the shot when there was a horrendous squawking and excited quacking from down stream. I immediately brought the camera around to see a male Mallard being chased by another, in a territorial dispute. I got off three "quick" shots while panning on the lead duck as he finally made his escape by becoming airborne. All at 1/40 sec, and ~200mm. None in particularly good focus. Well on further reflection I decided that this one seems to work well as kind of an abstract. I cropped it a bit to improve the composition. So here it is:
