I don't really know the solution but maybe a work around is to subscribe
to one of the free, web-based email services for exclusive use for PDML
posts.

This also has the advantage of keeping PMDL mail separate from your
normal email - not really an issue if you're getting digest posts but a
real boon if you get individual posts.

I've been using Bluebottle (www.bluebottle.com) and it's been excellent
for the past 3 years or so but they had some server problems recently so
I subscribed to Fastmail (www.fastmail.fm).  I may go back to Bluebottle
later on.  A lot of people also use Gmail.
