Well I'm glad we don't have to "fight" about it... Seriously I'm very impressed with the 28-70mm f4.0 on a digital body, but then it was one of the nicest little lenses on film. I know some people were disappointed with it on a DSLR, which combined with the element separation problems it's known for has has lead to it being one of the more affordable short zooms from the end of the film era. I find it to be exceedingly sharp on the *ist-D and Ds. I'm thinking that most people have to be disappointed in the zoom range on the APS size sensor more than image quality. I can't remember the last time I shot a bad picture with this lens that wasn't due to a mistake on my part. I'm hoping that it will continue to be true when I upgrade to the K20D.
