Yes, indeed, in Australia Peugeots are often called "Pugs". But what we have here is a case of mistaken identity due to the very similar logos of Peugeot <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Peugeot_logo.svg> and Holden http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Holden_logo.png> especially as in past years the Holden logo included the whole body of the lion. The car pictured is a 1980ish Holden Gemini, the local version of the Isuzu Gemini. Note that the Holden lion is seated with a paw resting on a wheel against a red field while the Peugeot lion is rampant on a blue field. These days they are more distinctive but historically they were easily confused.
