If you're doing high-res scans (and why else would you want a film scanner!), SCSI will be *much* faster than USB. I'd never consider a USB scanner for film scanning because of this. It really adds up when you're scanning a batch of slides. I get by fine without the dust/scratch removal technology on my Minolta Scan Multi but there times when I really wish I had it available.
