That's interesting. I always thought of Angus McBean as a shelf rather
than a ledge. And I had no idea he took that photo of the Beatles -
they were on a verandah, which is a sort of shelf or ledge on the side
of a building, so I suppose it's appropriate. 

I used to work at Selfidges, which is about 200 yards from the EMI
offices in Manchester Square, and it was impossible to walk past
without looking up and thinking about the photo. Since then the
building has been pulled down and replaced. 

I've never liked Angus McBean's photos, but that has earned him a bit
of respite from my dislike.
