In fact, the M-series Pentax was biggest Pentax success of all times reached monthly production of more than 50 000 units of single models. As far as I know Pentax released the first ever AF slr camera. The current AF system was released in 1987; the same year as Canon, the market leader, released theirs. As far as I know, Pentax is very competitive in digital; the new Optio cameras are very successful. Also, Pentax will possibly be among the first, if not the first, to provide digital slr's that are truly competitive in price. PMA next year could be interesting....
