There is now a Grand Prize for the best print submitted by 15 December 2001.
I will go by postmark so those farther away have the same chance as those
who are closer. Donated by a Pentax Rep, the Grand Prize is a rare and
collectable piece of Pentax memorabilia. It will never even be unwrapped (I
am afraid that if I look at it , it will somehow get lost <grin>), I will
just put a label to the winner on the package and send it. The following is
a copy of his offer

******************************************************************

Tom,

Your very own local Pentax rep will contribute a prize for your contest.

It's a Swiss Army style large pocket knife. It has about a dozen stainless
steel 'blades' and tools and features a wood handle with PENTAX lasercarved
into it. An instant collectors' item, for sure.

It is not a Pentax made product, of course, it is a promotional piece made a
few years ago. It is not available from Pentax and is never likely to again
be available from Pentax. In fact, you are not likely to ever see another
one.

I have one, only one, brand new in a box. Please let your contestants know
that your local Pentax rep responded to some of your threats of physical
assault and came up with this very limited production piece for your
contest. You asked for a 31mm Limited, but I turned you down.

If anyone asks if there are more than this one available, the answer is no.

That should encourage some increased participation, I'd think.

Please let me know if you want to use it for your contest. If not, I'll put
it back into my cabinet and find some special event down the road for it.
This is one of those cool little thingies that I wish I had dozens of, oh
well.

So get those prints in the mail by 15 December 2001. The best quality print,
in my opinion, will win.
