As much grief as the bride caused me by not alloting time for wedding party shots, bride & groom shots, etc; I will say that she was probably the ideal bride for a first wedding shoot. Her attention to photographic detail and knowledge of what I was "supposed" to capture was so phenominally low (she asked "why are you taking pictures of my rings?") that I fortunately have low stress about the tons of shots I'm sure I missed (like the registry shot). Valuable lessons learned, with little cost. As I mentioned, I'll be out again this weekend as a non-shooting assistant. It'll be a whole different experience now that I've tried it myself and suddenly have a million new questions from a first-hand perspective.
