Hi Everyone:

Just thought I'd pass this along: One of the British Photo Mags--Digital
Camera World--gave the K20D a really good review. Here are some quotes that
I thought interesting:

"Pentax DSLRs have always produced quite a rich, film-like look, and the
skintones in this portrait are natural looking and well textured." This
quote appeared next to a portrait test shot.

". . . the K20D (like previous Pentaxes) has a character all its own, too.
It really does come quite close to the 'look' of a traditional transparency
film. Not the oversaturated colors of Velvia, maybe, but Kodachrome 64,
perhaps, or E6 slide films in general."

I found this quote a bit curious:

"You might get sharper detail from a Nikon D200 (for example), and there are
plenty of DSLRs with better kit lenses than this one. But the K20D's image
quality, judged overall ('holistically', shall we say?) is excellent.
Commercial photographers might not be impressed, but those keen on subtler
pictorial qualities will be excited."

It's the 1st part I find curious. I mean, it doesn't seem right to judge
the sharpness of a camera by the kit lens, right? Am I missing something?
I'm willing to be educated here!

The negatives were as follows:

-didn't like the navipad
-didn't like that you still had to go through function button for white
balance, ISO et al
-found metering cautious

Cheers, Christine
