I recall seeing a test on one of the Olympus water and shock proof...they just let the camera in the habds of a 1 year old baby for a while...and the camera survived. Oh, I found the review. I have used this camera and I own a Optio W20 and I have to admit that this one is more resistent for sure (it is advertised as shockproof) although I am not sure if it is still being produced of if it has a replacement. It was more expensive too, though.
