Thanks for all the comments on these two photos. A few responses to  
questions ...

The light in the theatre is very low and there's a huge preponderance  
of red due to the upholstery and decor. Also the lighting is very  
very warm in color. So I originally applied my usual B&W setup  
filter, which desaturates all channels and lets me mix a spectral  
response with the luminance controls. But then I thought, hmm, well  
the red upholstery is really all we've got so I started bumping the  
red saturation control up in tiny increments ... got this point and  
liked the results. It's monochrome with a red bias ... ;-)

lol ... I suspect that I'd get some flack for trying that ... and  
light levels would a bit of a problem even with the f/1.4 lens and  
ISO 3200!

"The Lonely Life" is really a reference to the Bette Davis biography  
and its relationship to the theater as a concept, the cover of which  
(an exerpt being distributed for the film festival) is seen in the  
lap of the gent at the lower-left corner of the first one.

It is always fascinating to me how people interpret titles on photos!!
