THANKS PAUL. I know Pentax makes great quality flash units. I used to have the old AF 500 FTZ which is built like a tank and beautifully designed. Unfortunately this is a ttl only unit. I'm supprised to hera about problems with the$ locking mechanism.
The Metz 58-1 costs appr. 40 USD less than the AF 540FGZ , but less powerfull (only GN 42). In Germany the Metz is 280 Euro, the Pentax is 320 USD.
