Bruce, as a matter of habit I am using matrix metering almost at all times. On *istD I don't recall such things, but I should admit that it's been about a year and a half since I parted with my *istD, so I may not be remembering clearly.
I will make a mental note to switch to center-weighted metering next time I get into such trouble. Thanks.
