It's apparently a real fault in a fair number of K20Ds, (but not all 
apparently from reading a couple of threads where K20D users couldn't 
reproduce the effect even when they tried using the published methods, 
which makes me think it might possibly be hardware), that doesn't show 
up in "normal" shooting but can be consistently reproduced once you know 
how.  I think it actually is a "hardware" issue, but one that can be 
easily "fixed" with a firmware patch for the circumstances where it 
appears.   But that's just an educated guess...
