Eliminating light to the back of the sphere is probably a plus in a big room. 
In a small room, it's probably a minus. Like all flash work, you have to use 
judgement and common sense. In a room with high ceilings, the lightsphere works 
best with the cap removed. In really large rooms or outdoors, shooting through 
the cap, as though it were a softbox, works very well.
