Discussion about SUVs tends to be oriented around lack of efficiency and energy consumption. That is, they're a luxury which should be controlled. So how much does the luxury of photography add to environmental pollution? Or, even less-noticed, the semiconductor industry?
Those who target SUVs will, when their task is complete, just pick another target. Because the movers and shakers (not all of the followers) in this world view are from a Marxist persuasion. They hate things like private property and class success. As evidence I present the group that attacked the SUV dealership in the NW U.S. last year. Their own statement was not only with regard to vehicles, but to people in prison who have (wish I had the original words on hand on short notice) transcended our understanding of ownership and property. The world view behind the opponents of SUVs is more worrisome than SUVs themselves. jm2c, Collin - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
