The recommended settings for using the edit in external editor for  
Photoshop are TIFF, 16bit and Prophoto RGB.

In PS, go to Color Settings, pick the "North American Prepress 2"  
bundle the change the working RGB setting to ProPhoto RGB. This gives  
the most seamless operation and broadest editing flexibilty.
