You shouldn't be. That portrait has buckets of character. I love the tilt of the head, the crop is excellent, the unlit fag is novel - he's just popped it in ready to go - it's a superb shot, you should be proud. Go buy a couple of books by some revered photogs - leaf through - that always gets the creative juices flowing.
