Godfrey, thank you for the suggested sequence. I'll try it. However, so far I was not very satisfied with the spotting tool in LR. I have two problems with it. First, it is hard to apply it when there are a few speckles far enough that they cannot be covered by one spot, but close enough that 2-3 spots would need to be overlapped. Second, it seems to leave noticeable edge of the spot (non-matching color). I like the clone stamp and spot tools in PS much better.
Bob S. and Mark, On several occasions I've had series of photos taken with all the same dust particles stuck to the sensor, to discover it afterwards. Or, even if I see them in the beginning, I have no way of removing them, especially when I am at an event. So such a function would be very handy. My brother uses it with his D70. Surprisingly, some dust particles can stay in the same place for several tens of shots.
