You'll want to add some apps to improve your productivity and/or replace utilities that you were used-to on your previous OS (I assume Windows?). Here's a great list to bookmark: http://www.algorithm.com.au/code/macosx/software/ You might want to pickup a copy of "Mac OS X, The Missing Manual", David Pogue, O'Reilly. Note though that this book is *huge* (almost 800 pages), highly detailed and likely overkill. My copy is 4.5 years old now and I have one bookmark in it for the section, "Secret Keystroke List". It's otherwise largely unopened and definitely not dog-eared. You could save yourself $30 and print a copy of that keystroke list off from the Apple knowledge-base. :-) One of the most contentious of all applications is email. Apple's Mail.app is either loved or hated by all, so give it a fair try first, but you may want to install Thunderbird as a replacement. This is a useful site to bookmark: http://www.macosxhints.com/ Some advice in there is dated, but most is pretty good. It's searchable. Have fun! -bmw -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
