Hi Everyone: The 24 hours before my internet went down were eventful to say the least. I've done this in 4 short sets for easier viewing.
1) The adventure began with a B-day outing for my littlest nephew who just turned 8 at Navy Pier. His name is Akira. Of special note, he took the 2nd photo. We cropped it tighter, but he took the shot with the K10D. Not too bad, hey? When I saw the 4th photo, I thought: "Oh my gosh. I've taken a Dave Savage picture!" Doesn't it look like a photo Dave Savage would take? ;-) All shots (except the sunrise) were taken with K10D, 50mm1.4. The last ride was the Wave Swing, which had me screaming the whole time--though it was fun--though it left my stomach quite churned. I've provided a slide show of the Wave Swing in both color & black & white. You really must check out the black & whites. If you have the time you should really check out the large still size. I don't think I've ever photographed fireworks before. If I did, it was with film & the negatives are somewhere--who knows where. The 1st one isn't that interesting; I included it as the first firework shot I'm pretty sure I've ever taken--I went sentimental on that one ;-). But I also did a black & white conversion, which I think is really cool. I plan to go back--do more fireworks--for a black & white study. My friend Belinda stayed the night, so, we put my husband to bed, put the kettle on for a strong pot of tea, gabbed, then dashed out the door for a sunrise. I don't know what happened with the color, but I'll do better next time.
