Next to the Reichstag in Berlin are two very striking modern office buildings, flanking the canal. They are huge; note the sizes of the people in the center and mid-left. The crosses commemorate those who were killed trying to swim the canal to escape East Berlin in the days of the Wall. It is very sobering.
