The annual Railroad Days event was last week. Several museums in the Omaha, Nebraska/Council Bluffs, Iowa vicinity get together to put on a celebration of the contribution to the areas history and growth. The two cities are connected by a bridges spanning the Missouri river. This is where the Union Pacific started building track to connect to the west cost.
Here are a few shots, and a gallery of shots from the event. This is a "detail" of a steam locomotive drive wheel. I'm not sure how well it will show on your monitors, but there is a great amount of shadow detail captured in this image. It intend to make a relatively large print. <http://georges.smugmug.com/gallery/5476909_LamvG/1/334870972_j8xA2/Large> This is the interior of the restored Omaha Union Station shot with the Pentax 10-14 zoom. This is about an 80$ crop from the original image. I'm having great fun learning to use this lens. If I get a little time I'll collect a few shots from this lens and put them in a sample gallery. I'm also enjoying the low light performance of the K20d. <http://georges.smugmug.com/gallery/5476909_LamvG/3/334871194_9zhcD/Large> Here's the full gallery. <http://Georges.smugmug.com/gallery/5476909_LamvG/1/334866006_Ucrcc> GS <http://georgesphotos.net> -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
