I think we have a poltergeist, or maybe had one: a month or so ago, one shelf of books in our bedroom was swept to the floor in the middle of the night, waking us both. The shelf, which is simply resting on the brackets, was still in place, but the books weren't! My daughter-in-law swears our place is haunted, and occasionally I feel I've seen movement out of the corner of my eye, but there is nothing/nobody there. BTW, our apartment is only thirty years old...

You could be sitting in the house, reading or what ever, then you would hear this tremendous sound of smashing glass. At first i thought it was the little deviates from the farm next door throwing rocks. I would check every window inside and out, plus storms stored in the basement, incase they fell over, but nothing ever found. Many previous and post Brooks tenants told the same story.
