Today I took delivery of a Gretag-Macbeth eye-one calibration tool to replace my old colorvision Spyder that just never seemed to work well with these newfangled LCD screens, and would not support dual monitors. I am happy to report that the tool works as advertised, and my old LCD screen now looks pretty much the same as my newer one, and my newer one looks very good indeed. My gray application background now looks gray, not slightly magenta. I haven't printed anything yet to see if I am done with the guesswork that has been my life for the past 8 months, but I am pretty confident.
