Near the center of Berlin is the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, built in the late 1800s and devastated by bombing in 1944. The ruins are preserved as a memorial and a reminder of the folly of war; a new modernistic bell tower and sanctuary rise on either side. The crowds, light, and heavy traffic make it a challenge to shoot.
