There are two different versions of the M 28 one is cosmetically similar 
and optically identical to the A 28. the older version is a slightly 
different optical formula and looks like all the other M lenses.  I was 
never happy with any of the earlier f2.8 28mm lenses that Pentax 
produced, instead I've got the K 30mm f2.8.  If you're looking for 
corner to corner image quality on 35mm film that's the lens to get.
