I happened to see the new Lowepro Flipside advertised in a recent PDN issue so I looked it up.
It's a slim backpack arrangement ... two sizes available ... with what looks like plenty of space for a day long wander with a complete kit (including tripod carrier). Digital camera review did a good review of it including a utube video (pentax fans: he shows the 300 model with K10D equipment in the video, so watch and cheer and also get a feel for how it works with a K10/20D and grip and several lenses... :). http://www.digitalcamerareview.com/default.asp?newsID=3356&review=lowepro+flipside I'm impressed. It looks like a good bag for day long walks and carrying with minimal stress on back and neck, it's shape and design will keep it from catching on doors, walls, etc as you move through airports and such. The inverted access means that if you are the type that reaches into the bag constantly to change lenses it won't be quite so good, but if you tend to work with one or two lenses for extended periods of time it should be just right. Anyway, I found it quite interesting and the price isn't too high...
