That's really just about the only thing that really bugged me in Bulgaria ... there's a lot of trash on the ground, basically everywhere outdoors. Part of the problem may have been that I was there before the leaves started coming out, so the trash was much more visible. But it was definitely a bit of a downer and it messed up some gorgeous locales and scenes. I sure hope they get a handle on it. Other that that, the Plovdiv area is visually delightful, between several thousand years of history and being nestled in between about three or four mountain ranges but lying on the banks of the Maritsa river in the central plain.
