How the hell do you know where the Eastern Beaches are, Dave? Actually, Christina, he's right. Toronto's Eastern Beaches (usually just called "The Beaches" or - as the locals down there call it - The Beach) are a huge natural sand beach running for several kilometres from the Scarborough Bluffs to Ashbridges Bay east of downtown. Sadly, the water's often not fit for swimming due to high e-coli counts. Since this summer's been quite cool (we really haven't had a heatwave yet) there are been very few "red flag" (no swimming) days. There's a beautiful boardwalk (yesterday's pic of the dog gazing at the ice cream cone was taken on it) that runs most of the length of the Beaches. http://tinyurl.com/5c6pas http://bp0.blogger.com/_EaTEtfR4WJw/RwYsYsA-_0I/AAAAAAAAAxo/75SbSkylNlc/s1600-h/oct_5.jpg You guys have large urban beaches in Chicago, don't you? cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
