Over the course of the year, a few of the Trillium shows put on a "Classic" at the end of the day, for some of the main core riders.
Its a tougher course, and you have two judges, which combine scores for a percent. The top 50% usually return for a second round and the scores combined. In a normal Hunter round you jump 8 fences. In the Classic's up to 10 fence. However, one of the show farms, did three Classic's this summer, the old fashioned way. Take part of the fence down, build a chute from ring 1 to ring 2, make them ride up a grass hill and jump a ridged log jump, both ways. This now involves 16 fences. The good ol days.:-) Winner takes all. Saturday is pony day and they have two Classics on Friday's.
