The 77 is indeed a desirable piece of optics. The 31 is also a desirable piece of optics. But then again, so is, apparently, the DA 35 macro. Then there is the good old FA 35... Of those three, the 31 is priced pretty much steeper than the others. So if I was they, I would ask myself if the 31 is worth the price difference.
