I haven't read this entire thread, but I find your shot the crane to  
be a very interesting and attractive photograph. The noise doesn't  
bother me anymore than grain used to bother me. It's part and parcel  
of high ISO photography. (Although I think that with a bit more  
exposure (which may not have been feasible), the K20D can do better  
at this ISO.) In any case, I like the photo. Nice work.
