Well, I kept the apt for head & feet and afterwards started to drive to
Calumet Photo. I got about a 1/3 of the way there, then turned around and
headed home. I went straight to the computer and opened Lightroom to see
just how many shots I have shot at 35 mm on the DA 16 - 45mm f4. Well, it
was a lot less than I expected---but today I'm going out & I'm going to set
the zoom at 35mm & only shoot at this focal length. When I want to travel
ultra light, I usually put the FA 50mm f1.4 on the K10D--but it's often the
case that I'm walking around, see something, bring the camera to the left of
my nose, then discover I'm way too close for the lens, then have to scurry
back several steps--and sometimes way more than that.

Also, I really want a 2nd body: if my K10D tanked, I'd like a back-up & I'd
absolutely love to have 2 bodies in grab & shoot readiness for both
telephoto & wide angle work when shooting. Gosh, as I write this, I think I
should focus on the body, especially given a long term project I'm working
on: the construction of indoor parking and a new building where I work.
The construction will go on for 18 months. I've been introduced to the
construction project manager & there's a good chance I can get on the
construction site itself to shoot. I think I just talked myself into a new
body--heck, in more ways than one: I went golfing yesterday, which in
itself proved I needed a new body; I am so f*****g out of shape it's
disgusting, but at least I didn't end up knee deep in some boggy mud like my
brother did looking for a lost ball. Needless to say, golfing was a
disaster yesterday. Well, I think I'm back where I started yesterday. I
took care of the feet & head--now there's the long project of working on the
part in the middle--the body. ;-) Cheers, Christine
