I bought a converted Canon G3 at the beginning of June. It came with a
preset WB which works ok, but i set the camera to shoot B&W and in the
live view i can see exactly how the shot will look in IR, the whites,
darks etc.

I shoot it in Av mode at F8 with +0.5 EV. Then a gentle nudge in LR
and its done.
