Rules for digital photo competitions can be really troublesome to get right. We had a lot of discussion about the rules when the GFM Nature Photography Weekend photo contest went digital. We stuck with film for longer than most people probably expected, just to make sure as many people as possible were really up to speed with digital before we did so. And at GFM, we have the advantage of dealing with people who are pretty serious about their photography, so are well above the average knowledge level of the general public.
