I spent a couple of hours yesterday evening walking around Toronto's
chi-chi Yorkdale area.  It was the first weekend of the Toronto
International Film Festival, and all sorts and celebs are in town,
many of them holed up in exclusive Yorkville hotels.  The Four Seasons
Avenue Hotel (Steady, you stayed there at least once, IIRC) is pretty
much Festival Central, and crowds had congregated hoping to see their
favourite stars.  Lots of papparazzi-looking types with huge long
cream-coloured lenses and giant flashes prowled the neighbourhood.

I wasn't there looking for stars, I was there people-watching.  Roger
and his companion were there hoping, I suppose, that some of the money
walking by might make it into his little bucket on the sidewalk.  We
chatted for about ten minutes, and both were remarkably gentle souls
who don't deserve all the crap that life has thrown at them.
