I've been very impressed with Mamiya's lenses, I currently use their older M645 kit. The Mamiya 7 series RF lenses are as good as anything Leica's ever produced (and arguably better than Zeiss's MF glass, certainly sharper) and their 645AF lenses are excellent, as good or better than anything Hasselblad sells for their H-series.
The ZD is NOT the PhaseOne 645 system, that's just a rebadged PhaseOne version of the 645AFDIII body from Mamiya. The ZD is either Mamiya's integrated 645AF mount DSLR from 2006 or their current MF DB for the 645AFD compatible cameras that's derived from that camera. -Adam On Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 2:49 PM, Godfrey DiGiorgi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Personally, I'd rather have three Leica lenses than ten Mamiya lenses. > > Of course, three Leica lenses will cost more than ten Mamiya lenses, > but who's counting pennies? > > BTW, the Mamiya ZD is now the PhaseONE 645 system. > > G > > On Sep 22, 2008, at 11:42 AM, Adam Maas wrote: > >> Or buy the very similar in concept Mamiya ZD (if you can find one, >> nobody bought them) today for less than $10k and a much better lens >> lineup. > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow > the directions. > -- M.
