Far less fringing is the most obvious advantage of the DA* lenses in terms of image quality. Sharpness and resolution are great, but I obviously haven't made specific and direct comparisons. But as I noted, DA* autofocus is considerably better as well, particularly in continuous mode where the in-lens motor seems to offer distinct advantages over the camera driven lenses.

Paul, can you please elaborate in what precisely aspects of image quality (or should I say print quality) your DA* lenses outperform the comparable film lenses?

Thanks.

My film lenses are fine on digital, but the DA* lenses are outstanding. I rarely use anything other than the 50-135 and 16-50 these days. They're fast and sharp, and the USM autofocus beats the screwdriver autofocus system hands down.

I should like to agree here.

My film limited lenses are swell on digital. Naturally, I should never want even to think about mounting DA 21 on my MZ-6.
