Interesting. Total mount conversions for R stuff is nothing new (There are a fair number of R-mount equipped Nikon F2's floating around) but doing it on the lens side is a good choice, especially since I've yet to see a particularly good R body other than a converted Nikon. Leica's good at lenses but they never quite got the SLR thing, unlike Zeiss.
