Super! Now you've made me miss my old layout on the pool table in West Seattle. And the many hours I spent pouring over the best layouts in Model Railroading magazine. And my visit to inspect John Armstrong's Canandaigua Southern layout in Maryland back in 1987.

Like the few great photographers who went into the forests of the Pacific Northwest to document the harvesting of the old growth timber in the late 1800's, those who documented the age of steam are to be revered for their dedication and hard work in bringing us the majesty of the machines and scenes that dominated transportation around the world.

Long live large format!
