For Pentax, the EXIF only contains a code. Your software on the PC translates this to a legible name. I use IMatch to manage my images, and whenever I get a new lens, it just displays something like "Unknown Lens [8,56]" and I have to tell the IMatch author what lens that corresponds to, and he adds it to the database for the next release. PhotoME is good about having an up-to-date lens database, and you can also use it to see the code that's really in the EXIF.
Thanks Matthew. I hope I've put that info to good use...... William Robb -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
