don't get me started on the bin-men! My next door neighbour has lived on this street since she was born, about 85 years ago. She's been involved in a feud with the bin-men as long as I've lived here. When I asked her about it she told me that she inherited it from her father, and it goes back to 1944 when he had some sort of altercation with them about something. We have to have 3 recycling bins. If you get the wrong thing in the bin they won't empty it, and they leave a prissy little note of castigation. What makes it worse is that the bins have to be at the front of the house, where any passing saboteur can put mixed recyclables in with my food & garden waste. Plonkers.
