iPhoto '08 on Mac OS X does it well. Don't know software for PCs.
Someone must do it.
However, I find the an automated, random Ken Burns Effect makes me
nauseous after a few minutes of viewing. Complex transitions like that
require thought.

slideshow software which works exactly how I want it: Insert a SD card

My plan was to use a notebook and beamer for a modern slideshow as a
background during a party. My Xbox only has video out cables which
drops the resolution.
