Our camera club hosted a Nikon demo for the D300, D90, and the latest
version of their software. It turned out to be 99% a slide show on the
software. However, the next day the rep was going to be at a smaller
local camera store so I went there to talk with him and shoot some raw
samples with the D90. I now have the right version of ACR. :-)

In our conversation he alluded to the fact that Pentax was having
problems (He saw my K10D that I was shooting with). He said that
several ex Pentax sales reps were now working with Nikon, especially
in the Atlanta and NYC areas. I didn't press him but he seemed a nice
young gent.

Anyway, the comparison shots with the D90 at iso 1000 and 1600 vs the
K10 at 1600 yielded 13x19 prints that I could barely tell any
differences. Sharpness in the Nikon was very slightly higher but the
noise was, is anything, slightly greater than the K10. Color balance
on both were essentially identical.

At any rate the test pics is what convinced me to stay with the Pentax
and subsequently ordering the K20 from Amazon. It arrived Tuesday>
Can't wait!
