So, last night I clambered into the attic and brought down all the boxes and bits for my Contax/Zeiss gear. This morning I removed all the gear from my safe and packed it into the boxes. This afternoon I took it all to my friendly Leica
pusher and traded it in for a Leica M8 and 21/2.8 Elmarit-M lens.

:o)

They are both used but in absolutely like new condition. The M8 is silver - I would have preferred black, but what the hell. It's boxed with all the stuff, and really everything is indistinguishable from new, so I'm quite pleased.

Haven't had chance to shoot with it yet, but from playing with it the first think that struck me was the shutter sound. It's like the executioner's axe when it hits the block. Very different from the traditional Leica shutter. The other
striking thing is how much like the traditional Ms it is.

I'm very happy with this deal. The CZ stuff was sitting unused in my safe taking up space. The dealer snapped it up, so they've got a bargain. There must be a market for it, otherwise they wouldn't have snapped it up, so somebody is going to get a deal they will be happy with and the kit will be used. I have a digital pal for my M3 and M4-2 and will be able to use the other lenses I have. Win,
win, win, I'd say!

I'll post some pictures next weekend. I have a busy day tomorrow followed by a full week at work, so won't be shooting for a week. Which is muy frustrating.

Oh, and they upgraded the firmware to v2 in the shop. I may get chance to read
the manual tomorrow and perhaps take a few test snaps at lunchtime.
