I tried the CS4 auto alignment and auto blend with 9 frames from a
virtual tour I shot in the lobby of an apartment building. There were
ten frames in all in the 360 degree pan, but I forgot to include the
last one in this pic:-). The result was pretty good for just a button
click operation. Now these were shot at 17mm with the DA* 16-50. For
real estate panos, you have to shoot wide in vertical mode to get
enough floor and ceiling into the shot. Auto align did a good job of
aligning the distorted frames. Some of the ceiling tile lines on the
right side were mismatched. I manually fixed them a bit with the clone
tool, but gave up when I got bored:-). Although I shot all exposures
on manual, there was some discrepancy at the union points on two
frames. Auto blend corrected that. Pretty good, I'd say. Now I have to
learn how to tweak the alignment points manually. The directions in
the help file appear to have been written by someone who doesn't speak
the language.
