If you have Photoshop CS3, it can do this for you with a funky application called "Zoomify".

However, I think that it (Photoshop) counts on being the software which is assembling the pano, too... I'm not sure about that part.

The other downside is that it presents the pano in a pretty square-ish (4:3) box which I'm not sure is adjustable. So you can scroll left/ right, up/down, and zoom in/out, but you can't have the whole wide panorama on the screen at once. But who can, without a 5-foot-wide monitor?
